Wow.  Seriously wow.  When I went to see Avatar, I didn't realize I was about to cross one of those lines in life, on the other side of which you realize that you've been slightly changed.

The movie was so phenomenally well done that it actually made me feel as though I left our planet and life as I know it for the duration of the film.

Flux Vortex, for sure.

Driving home, listening to Sigur Ros made the entire experience just a bit more trippy and kept me somewhat cozy in the cocoon of the "voyage" I had just taken.

It made me think about a lot of things, namely the nature of our interaction with media and the technology that's driving the evolution of our species.

At home, still reeling from the film, I watched my family play Wii, controlling on-screen Avatars and thought about what it might look like 30 years in the future.

I’m putting my money on holographic entertainment.  Not literally, because I don’t know anything about who or what is out there on that front, but I can just imagine how cool it will be to watch a football game or car race on a tabletop where you can turn to view any angle of the game played right in front of you.  See you in 50 years.
