about Danny

Danny has been producing content for television, advertising, and industrial projects since 1994. From 1994 – 2002 Danny ran production and programming at Burly Bear Network, a cable TV / broadband programming service founded by Danny and later acquired by Lorne Michaels’ Broadway Video. Post acquisition, Danny served an interim role as CFO and later returned to lead the production team, working both above and below the line in development, finance, and physical production. During his time at Burly Bear, Danny oversaw production of over 100 hours of original content and custom advertising programs for sponsors ranging from Coca-Cola to Volkswagen.

"When I was a boy, I wanted to be a manufacturer. I was intensely intrigued by the notion of creating something where there was previously nothing and being a catalyst to make action happen where there was previously none.

In the early 90’s as my manufacturing career took root in the textiles industry, the digital media economy was quickly developing around massive advancements in micro-processors, video codecs and non-linear editing systems, opening an ever expanding window of digital possibilities. With wide eyes, my imagination and an interesting plan for a programming network targeting the national college-age demographic, I jumped through that window and have never looked back. My manufacturing medium of choice became zeros and ones.

At Very Nice Industries, I unite my idyllic childhood visions of "industry" with the creation of multi-platform digital media, working with clients to take advantage of the latest advancements in production technologies."

Danny founded Very Nice Industries with Howard Buksbaum in 2002. Their work together has garnered awards from ACE to Effie, Stevie, and Mixx.
